Join the Cast! Make a Difference!
Skaters of all ages at the USFS Basic 3 level and above are invited to participate in Skate for Hope. Cast members will have the opportunity to share the ice with National, World and Olympic Figure Skating Champions to help those affected
Each skater participating in Skate for Hope will directly help to raise funds for Skate for Hope health education programs, cancer research & awareness by having their performance sponsored. Sponsorship may come from the skater’s friends, family or local businesses and organizations that he or she wishes to approach.
Skate for Hope is a not-for-profit, charitable 501c3, organization & sponsorship funds are tax deductible. A minimum sponsorship of $375 is required to become a member of the cast.
Registration & sponsorship deadline is Friday, May 5th, 2017 at Noon.
How to Participate
Skaters will register online at skateforhope.org by Noon on Friday, May 5th, and create their personal skater page to email to friends and family. Friends and family will visit the skater’s personal page & make sponsorship donations online. All online donations will be immediately emailed a thank you letter and tax-deductible receipt.
A $37 non-refundable, non-tax deductible registration fee is also required to join the cast. Cast members must register online & raise a minimum of $375 by May 5th, 2017 to join the cast. All cast members may raise additional funds up to the day of the show.
Registered, performing, participants may also utilize (and edit) the SFH Skater Sponsor Letter posted here on the cast info page of our website to reach out to potential sponsors via regular mail.
Each Cast Member will Receive:

Skaters will perform together in group numbers (defined by SFH) based on age and skill level. As skaters at the same or similar test level are extremely unique, each number will consist of skaters at multiple skill levels. Choreography will be composed to accommodate and highlight all levels.
Music will be selected by Skate for Hope & provided for all skaters.
Will be selected and ordered by Skate for Hope. Participants will be responsible for
payment of selected costumes at the time of online registration and will therefore own
them after the show. The costume fee is $95.00.
Rehearsals & Locations
45 - 60 minute ice times with choreography & instruction.
15 - 30 minutes of off ice instruction
30 minute Health Education Presentation
Time Commitment is 1.75 - 2 hours each week.
All rehearsals will consist
Skaters will choose their rehearsal location during online registration.
Sundays between Noon - 4 pm at the Florida Hospital Center Ice Wesley Chapel, FL
Saturdays between 1-4 pm at the
Germain Arena, Estero, FL
Rehearsal schedule may change due to
unforeseen circumstances. Any changes
will be communicated to all registered
participants via email.
Welcome to the Cast Days
All cast members can be fit for their costume and receive their cast information package on:
Sunday May 7th, between Noon 3pm, at Florida Hospital Center Ice, Wesley Chapel, Florida
Wednesday May 10th, between 3-6 pm at Germain Arena, Estero, FL
The cast Information package will include:
The music selection for your number
The name of your choreographer
View the dress / costume for your number
The exact dates and times of your on ice rehearsals
The exact dates and times of your off ice rehearsals

The event day agenda and instructions
Complimentary ticket vouchers to the show (number based on sponsorship level)
If you are unable to attend a Welcome to the Cast Day, please email email@example.com PRIOR to May 5th, to receive the costume fitting form and your cast information packet.
Fitting forms must be completed and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by May 5th.
Honoring Loved Ones
During online registration, each skater may submit a personal, 10-15 word dedication to someone who has been affected by cancer. These personal messages will be printed next to the skater’s name in the printed show program.
Survivor Celebration Ceremony
If your skater(s) would like to dedicate his or her participation to an attending cancer survivor, he or she may participate in the Survivor Celebration Ceremony during the show. To participate in this ceremony, you must purchase TWO VIP seats to the show for your survivor and their guest.
Tickets will be on sale at all weekly rehearsals.
The purchase of TWO VIP seats will provide:
ONE survivor gift
Two Survivor Ceremony seats
The opportunity for your skater to perform another time in the show
Skaters and their survivor guests will be introduced by name as the skaters take the ice and present a gift from Skate for Hope to their survivor. This elegant & beautiful ceremony will be narrated and set to music. Families with multiple siblings will have both or all of their performing skaters present together to their survivor.
Outstanding Fundraiser Recognition:
Outstanding Fundraiser Recognition Ceremony
All skaters that raise $1,000 and above, will be thanked and recognized in the Outstanding Fundraiser Recognition Ceremony during the show. These skaters will be individually announced and skate solo for the length of the ice while performing their favorite gliding element into their favorite jump or spin.
Top 7 Fundraiser Recognition Benefits
The top seven fundraisers will become the Headliner Flower Presenters. These skaters will be thanked, recognized and introduced to the audience. Additionally, the top seven fundraisers will open the Outstanding Fundraiser Recognition Ceremony and perform with several of the elite athletes headlining the show. All donations raised up to Noon on June 16, 2017 will determine the top seven
fundraisers. SFH reserves the right to add an additional skater(s) to the Top 7 Fundraisers should they be affiliated with a presenting corporate sponsor of the event.
Skaters that do NOT reach the minimum $375 sponsorship before Friday, May 5th, will choose:
To donate online on May 5th, the remaining amount needed to reach $375 and join the cast.
To decline to donate online on May 5th, the remaining amount needed to reach $375 and not join the cast. These skaters will receive one complimentary ticket to the show and all donations made in their honor will go to health education, cancer research & awareness.
